Summer’s reminder to know the difference between snakes.

I cannot remember when I first heard the story of the Snake and the Maiden, a poem adaptation from The Snake (song) by Oscar Brown which itself was inspired by Aesop’s tale of the Farmer and the Viper, believed to be an adaptation of the earlier myth of the Frog and the Scorpion.
