Tengo el privilegio de no solo poder en mi juventud trabajar la tierra, crecer comida para apoyo mutuo y aprender de mis matriarcas como preparar los alimentos y medicina, Pero también poder en el momento presente estar trabajando para el Círculo de Creativos para Farmers Footprint, una publicación que se enfoca en cuidar el planeta por medio de apoyar granjeros a que cultiven prácticas agriculturales que son ancestrales y biológicamente moral, en oposición a la industrialización agrícola que daña a la gente que lo trabaja, el planeta y los animales. Cuando ellos me llamaron para escribir, me ofrecieron escribir recetas, pero después de la operación Blooming Onion donde encontraron más de 200 personas esclavizadas en Georgia, pedí que me den una oportunidad de escribir un análisis y contexto histórico para después enfocar el resto del año (después del 18 de Junio 2022 cuando tendremos la movilización masiva de gente pobre y trabajadores de sueldo mínimo en Washington DC) para viajar por el país y conocer trabajadores agrícolas de distintos sectores y contar sus historias. Gracias a dios no sólo accedieron a mi proyecto, sino también me han bendecido con un gran equipo de artistas, fotógrafos, editores y diseñadores que realmente capturaron la visión de como yo soñé que pudiéramos contar las historias visualmente.

La primera entrega salió esta semana, está accesible en la internet, se puede leer en español y hoy quería mostrarles la tabla, y mencionar que la tabla solo cubre la historia de leyes migratorias en USA que tienen que ver con el trabajo agrícola, les aseguro que nos tomaría HORAS y PÁGINAS para tener una tabla con todas las leyes y actos que lidian con nuestra gente. Esta semana nuestros hermanos del pueblo Judio celebran Purim, el festival que recuerda a Esther una joven, ilegal quien la historia nos dice fue estratégicamente valiente en como uso su voz y por pura coincidencia o acto de dios (a quien dios eligió para un tiempo como este) llegó a un lugar en el mundo, donde puede cambiar la narrativa y el mismo futuro de su gente. Enfrentando explotacion, esclavitud y genocidio. Ella se encuentra con la mis fortuna de ser elegida como concubina del rey quien por leyes y decretos continúa oprimiendo a su gente. Con tiempo, estrategia y apoyo de sus familiares, ella finalmente con su voz, se levanta en contra la opresión y habla con el rey sobre la aflicción que bien ella ha visto, sentido en carne propia por causa de sus explotadores… y si, se festeja por que ella fue victoriosa, cuando se dio cuenta de que tal vez, ha sido puesta en ciertas situaciones y posiciones para un tiempo como este.

Y aquí seguimos, cada uno en nuestras vidas llego aquí por que hemos sido elegidos, separados, consagrados por dios, espíritu, los ancestros, el universo, o, tal ves por ti mismo, cualquiera sea tu creencia creo que todos podemos tomar el valor que Esther nos demostró y seguir estratégicamente peleando por los derechos de nuestra gente.

Miren que recién empecé mi investigación y ya de toda la vida que viví como indocumentada conozco bien la aflicción de mi pueblo en el campo, pero desde el campo se escucha el clamor que no somos animales de carga, no somos máquinas, no somos tractores, somos sagrados y separados y consagrados para un tiempo como este y como líderes en la campaña de la gente pobre seguiremos escuchando, amplificando sus voces y cometidos a traerlos en buses aquí a washington dc para un evento que transformará la nación el 18 de Junio de 2022

This week our Jewish siblings celebrated Purim, the festival that remembers Esther, a young, undocumented woman who history tells us was strategically brave in how she used her voice and by sheer coincidence or act of God (whom God chose for a time as this) arrived at a place in the world, where he can change the narrative and the very future of his people. Facing exploitation, slavery and genocide, she meets with the misfortune of being chosen as concubine of the king who by laws and decrees continues to oppress her people.

With time, strategy and support from her relatives, she finally, with her voice, stands up against oppression and speaks with the king about the affliction that she has well seen, felt firsthand because of her exploiters… and yes, we celebrate that she was victorious, when she realized that perhaps, she has been put in certain situations and positions for a time like this.

And here we continue, each one of us in our lives came here because we have been chosen, separated, consecrated by god, spirit, the ancestors, the universe, or, perhaps by yourself, whatever your belief, to be here to not be silent, to be moved to use your voice and gifts, I believe that we can all take courage that Esther showed us and continue strategically fighting for the rights of our people. Look, I just started my research and from all my life as an undocumented immigrant I know well the affliction of my people in the countryside, We are not animals, we are not machines, we are not tractors, that we are holy and set apart for such a time as this, from the fields the clamor is heard and as leaders in the campaign of the poor and disspossed we will continue to listen, amplifying their voices and commit to busing them here to Washington dc for a nation-shaping event on June 18, 2022
